Hillsborough Recreation Junior Summer Tennis Camp

Join our top-rated junior tennis camp at Hillsborough Recreation! Designed for young players, our expert coaching blends skill-building, match play, and fun in a dynamic learning environment.

Orange Ball Court (Ages 6-9) – Beginner Level

A fun, skill-building class where young players (6-9) learn grip, strokes, footwork, and rallying through engaging drills and games. Focuses on coordination, teamwork, and confidence while introducing serving and court positioning. Perfect for beginners to develop a strong foundation and love for tennis!

Green Dot Ball Court (Ages 10-13) – Intermediate

This class helps intermediate players (10-13) refine strokes, footwork, and strategy while improving ball control, spin, and court positioning. Match-play scenarios develop tactical thinking, shot selection, and pressure handling. Players gain confidence and adaptability for real-game competition.

Our Coaches

Our experienced coaches Eric and Lucas, have over 40 years of combined playing and coaching experience and currently operate Apex Court Academy in the local area.

Lucas Rosenberg

Lucas is a dedicated tennis and pickleball coach with a USTA rating of 5.0. With years of experience working with players of all levels, he's committed to helping you reach your full potential. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced player, Lucas can tailor his coaching to your specific needs.

Eric Dennis

Eric Dennis has been playing tennis for over 20 years and competed in USTA tournaments before earning a spot on the University of Redlands tennis team. After graduating with a degree in English and a minor in Economics, he transitioned to coaching.

FAQs

1. What is the refund policy if a parent cancels? Are there any late registration fees or early bird discounts?

Refund policies are determined by Hillsborough Recreation. Currently, there are no additional fees or discounts.

2. What are the drop-off and pick-up locations? Are there specific instructions or parking guidelines?

For sessions at North School in Hillsborough, please use the main parking lot. Click here to get the location

3. Is early drop-off or late pick-up available for parents?

Early drop-off options are under consideration; updates will be provided once confirmed. Late pick-up is not available.

4. What happens if a session is canceled due to weather? Are there rescheduling options or refunds?

In the event of weather-related cancellations, we offer either a credit for another session or a full refund.

5. Do children need to bring their own tennis rackets, or are they provided?

Children should bring their own rackets. Parents can purchase equipment at Tennis Town and Country in Palo Alto, where a 15% discount is available when mentioning our program.

6. With 8 players per court, how many coaches will be available?

Each court will have 2 coaches, ensuring personalized attention and guidance.

7. What follow-up options are available after the camp, such as fall classes or tournament opportunities?

We plan to offer fall classes for students interested in continuing their tennis development. Registration for these classes will be available through Apex on our website.
